3rd Iranian Documentary Film Festival Munich 2025

The Iranian Documentary Film Festival Munich (IDFM) 2025, held from June 6 to 9 at Werkstattkino, returned for its third edition with a compelling selection of 10 documentaries. The festival presented diverse perspectives on Iranian life and identity, exploring themes such as migration, memory, culture, social change, environmental concerns, and personal resilience through the lens of contemporary documentary filmmaking.
Organized by Khane Iran e. V., AIS-Munich e. V., Parse Books, Engareh Cultural Group, and Werkstattkino, IDFM 2025 welcomed audiences from diverse backgrounds with films presented in multiple languages and accompanied by English subtitles. The festival continued its mission of fostering intercultural dialogue, strengthening cultural exchange, and showcasing the richness and diversity of Iranian documentary cinema to audiences in Germany and beyond.
